Our coffee this month comes from Finca Santa Teresa (FST), located close to the border with Costa Rica. Our previous feature from the farm was back in July 2020, when we were in the first few months of starting our #dYScover collection. This time round, we have decided to feature something a little more special from them, a natural processed Gesha.
Gesha (one of the many variety of coffee beans) beans are renowned for its intense sweet flavour and floral aroma, which contributes to its higher price. Auctions held for the top scoring gesha beans have seen prices reach over US$1000/lb in recent years!
Of course we do not carry such top quality beans, but this month's coffee gives an adequate insight into what Gesha beans are like, and why there is a premium for them.
We hope you enjoy this month's #dYScover as much as we do!
We taste notes that reminds us of tangerine, strawberry, as well as strong floral hints both in the aroma and in the cup. This is all in a light-bodied cup of coffee that has a lasting aftertaste.
As our #dYScover beans are roasted specially, and separately from the rest of our offerings, we only have limited quantities per month! If you have ever thought or wondered about specialty coffee from Panama, do make sure you give this a try soon!
There are so many different types of coffee grown in various regions of the world, with each region tasting very distinct from one another.
#dYScover, by Yong Seng Coffee, is our attempt at letting you experience high quality/specialty coffee from the various coffee-producing regions of the world. Read more about specialty coffee here!
