Guatemala Antigua (May 2020)
Regular price $15.50This month, we visit the Americas. Specifically, Guatemala. Guatemala has a rich history in coffee, and have been growing and exporting coffee since the 1800s. Some of the main coffee producing regions in Guatemala are San Marcos, Acatenango, Atitlán, Huehuetenango, and the well-known Antigua region.
However, coffee production has fallen in recent years as farmers moved into macadamia nuts and avocados. Regardless of that, the quality of Guatemalan coffee has not declined, and remains one of the best in the world that is well-known for its complex taste.
The famous Antigua region has many factors that allows it to produce some of the most extraordinary coffee from the country - Rich, volcanic soil, low humidity as well as plenty of sun and cool nights, all working together to produce high quality and sweet coffee cherries! Expect a cup of coffee with a full body, and really strong dark chocolate and nutty notes!
As our #dYScover beans are roasted specially, and separately from the rest of our offerings, we only have limited quantities per month! If you have ever thought or wondered about specialty coffee from Guatemala, do make sure you give this a try soon!
