Panama FST (July 2020)
Regular price $15.00This month, we visit the Republic of Panama, a country bordered by Costa Rica on its West, and Colombian to its southeast. Panama produces relatively little coffee when compared to its neighbours. However, coffee from Panama consistently generates high interests from the specialty coffee community due to its high quality beans it produces.
The main coffee growing regions within Panama are Boquete, Volcan-Candela, and Renacimiento, which are located in the western region of the country bordering Costa Rica. As most of the coffees in Panama are grown on small family-owned farms, there is high level of traceability down to a single estate. One of the most well-known farms in Panama is Hacienda La Esmeralda. This estate is famed for its Gesha variety of coffee beans, which are some of the best (and most expensive) in the world!
Our coffee this month comes from Finca Santa Teresa (FST), located close to the border with Costa Rica. This farm is blessed with rich black volcanic soil, high altitude, and favourable weather patterns, all of which results in coffees of singular quality. Expect a bright cup of coffee, with a mild body and floral/fruity notes.
As our #dYScover beans are roasted specially, and separately from the rest of our offerings, we only have limited quantities per month! If you have ever thought or wondered about specialty coffee from Panama, do make sure you give this a try soon!
There are so many different types of coffee grown in various regions of the world, with each region tasting very distinct from one another.
#dYScover, by Yong Seng Coffee, is our attempt at letting you experience high quality/specialty coffee from the various coffee-producing regions of the world. Read more about specialty coffee here!
Join us on this journey as we bring in coffee from different regions every month, as we explore the world of coffee together.
