This month features an extra special coffee from Café de Eleta for the holiday season! Located near La Amistad International Park (approximately one kilometre from the border between Panama and Costa Rica), Café de Eleta is a unique place where nature, climate and altitude mingle to offer one of the best locations in the world for specialty coffee production. Owing to its biodiversity and significance to the ecosystem, La Amistad International Park has been actually been declared a Natural Heritage by UNESCO. Coffees grown on the farm benefit from this special location within the cloud forest, which is rich with exotic species and a wide variety of animals and plants.

Extensive measures are also taken by the farm to protect their natural heritage, including training the farmers in environmental issues, a re-forestation program, and the use of organic fertiliser. Extra care and attention is also given during harvesting to ensure that only the ripest of beans are harvested and processed.

We taste notes of citrus fruits like oranges, as well as tropical fruits (notably pineapple as the coffee cools), in a cup that has strong floral aroma and dark chocolate notes.
