Regular price $20.00Coffee has been growing in Costa Rica since the early 19th century, and coffee production was strongly encouraged by the government of Costa Rica by giving away free coffee seeds, allowing certain tax exemptions, and even to the extent of giving away land to farmers who grew coffee on it! It is of no wonder that coffee became a very important export of the country (Fun fact: it was the only export of the country between 1846 and 1940) and it contributed greatly to the development of the country.
Our #dYScover collection this month features coffee from the Tarrazu region, which has a long-standing reputation for quality. The mineral-rich soil, coupled with the high altitude provides the perfect condition for the development of the coffee cherries.
We taste notes of green grapes, honey, with a slight cocoa-like bitterness, in a medium, velvety body cup of coffee with a pleasant acidity to finish.
